Interview With Nakita Guanipa: Beauty Instagrammer and Youtuber
Nakita Guanpia is a beauty instagrammer as well as a youtuber who shares her makeup looks with her 30.7k followers. Her makeup videos show of her skills as well as review the products she is testing. I was given the chance to ask her a few questions about her favourite products, how she got started and lots more. Have a read of the interview below.
1. When did you first become interested in applying makeup?
Well, that started when I was living in the Netherlands. I remember I was watching makeup tutorials on YouTube and I saw this turquoise and blue makeup look and I decided to recreate and I remember I took some photos and sent them to my sister and some friends. The feedback that I got blew my mind and they were all positive feedback. Some of the feedback were that I should consider starting a YouTube channel and create some amazing makeup looks for people who are trying to be creative with their makeup.
2, What made you want to start your Instagram page and Youtube channel?
There was a day I was at work here in London, and a colleague and I was just sitting and talking about things we like doing. Well, the conversation continued and we ended up speaking about makeup and I told her that I would like to start a YouTube channel but was a bit scared to do it and that I actually didn't know where to start. She gave me the best speech I had so far which motivated me to start my YouTube channel the following month. I had a Instagram account already at that time and what I was doing was posting a preview of the makeup on Instagram, that I have created on my Youtube channel, to bring traffic to my channel.
3. Have you ever tried any crazy makeup trends?
Absolutely! It was a Halloween trend where you I drew a 3D spider on my face. It was the most fun and challenging thing I have done so far that year. I need to get back on that Trend Train! 😀😀😀
4. If you were given the chance to do anybody's makeup who would you choose?
Most definitely RIHANNA!!!!!
5. What are your favourite drugstore and high end brands?
My favourite drugstore brands are Makeup Revolution, NYX Professional Makeup and Barry Cosmetics. Huda Beauty, NARS, Fenty Beauty, Pat Mcgrafth, Juvia's Place, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Estee Lauder, Too Faced are my favourite high end brand. Basically you can say the list goes on forever!!
6. Do you follow any influencers or celebrities that inspire your makeup looks?
Yes, I do to be honest. There are three influencers; Tailormadejane, Nikkietutorials, Teaira Walker and Msmercc on Instagram. Celebrities, that will be Rihanna and Nicki Minaj.
7. If you could give yourself any piece of advice when you were starting out what would it be?
One piece advice I would love to tell myself when I was starting out is "Be consistent, be patient, take advantage of every free time to create a makeup look and do not procrastinate, there will be times that you will be unmotivated and down but take a time off if needed, it's a process enjoy and grow with it, work hard and you will get there in due time" …
