Ambedo Beauty is an Australian-owned business that promises a salon-level gel manicure from the comfort of your own home. Initial Thoughts
The range of colours in the Rosé palette is so pretty! In order we have: Luna, Pink Lemonade, Peach Sundae, Dusky Rose, Blush and Cameo. The shade Blush was used for this review. Everything you could need for an at-home manicure came with this kit! Tools like the cuticle pusher and nail file were high quality and easy to use. All of the products arrived in a fabric pouch which is perfect for storage and using on-the-go!
The Process
Ambedo Beauty provided easy-to-understand instructions on how to use the kit on their website. The process began with prepping the nails by buffing them and applying a thin layer of a base coat. Each layer is dried under the LED Lamp for 60-90 seconds which is super quick! The lamp has a 60 or 120-second timer to help you keep track of how long your nails have been drying.
The texture of the nailshadows was softer than anticipated which made them easy to apply. In comparison to a liquid polish, there is less concern about the colour dripping from the applicator or leaving obvious brush strokes. We liked how nicely each layer of the product was applied and how the pigment was building each time. Depending on the colour you choose, you will need to apply more layers of the product to achieve a stronger colour.
A great trick was to dip the bristles into the base coat before applying the nailshadow! By doing this we didn't need as much gel on the brush and the product spread smoothly along the nail. All of the products are free from strong smells and are formulated without parabens, formaldehyde and other harmful chemicals.
Final Results
Overall, the gel nail polish dried nicely and has a really pretty shine! The pigment is versatile, going from sheer to a deeper pink after a few layers. The final result feels stronger than regular nail polish, especially after applying the top coat.
If you're a beginner who wants to practice gel manicures from home then this is the perfect product! It can take some practice to apply the product on your nails but after a few layers you become used to the texture and it becomes easy. To remove the product, you need to file down the top coat and soak your nails in acetone foil. The gel should come off in 10 minutes using this method!
